Our Team

Adam Thornton (Founder)

Adam is a 100% service-disabled U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who served 10 years on active duty as a Force Reconnaissance Marine. During his time in the military, he battled with substance abuse and mental health challenges; struggles that many service members face but often carry in silence. Before leaving the Marine Corps, he made the life-changing decision to get help, get sober, and begin his recovery journey.

Woodworking became a key part of that transformation-a hands on, meditative craft that gave him focus, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose. Inspired by the healing it brought him, he founded the End of Tour Recovery Workshop to help other veterans and first responders who are navigating similar battles. His mission is to build a space where community, recovery, and craftsmanship come together to support lasting change.

Cash (Adam’s service dog)

Cash is more than just a companion—he’s a vital part of Adam’s recovery journey and a symbol of strength and support behind the End of Tour Recovery Workshop. After facing his own battles of rehoming and neglect, Cash found his forever home with Adam and was trained as a service dog. Cash has stood by Adam through the toughest chapters, offering grounding, comfort, and constant loyalty during his time in service and transition from an active-duty Force Recon Marine to sober Veteran and founder.

Whether its in the workshop or out in the community, Cash reminds us of the importance of connection, trust, and unconditional support. He’s a beloved member of the team-and a living example of how healing takes many forms.
